Funky jeans for men

Men spend a large sum of money on jeans, and of course jeans make guys look like stylish, trendy and lively. Skinny, boot cut, designer or simply supermarket own, jeans have clearly got the fashion market sown up, as they continue to enjoy unbridled sales success. Latest research from 'Mintel' shows that, a staggering three pairs of jeans will be sold every second of every day in Britain alone. Jeans have clearly come a long way since their work-wear roots and are now a well established wardrobe staple. You can dress them up or dress them down. You can buy them with embellishments, or stick with the traditional five-pocket indigo variety. There are varieties of jeans available on shops. But knowing the latest trends will help you to own the up-to-date styles and designs
One of the biggest trends in jeans at the moment is raw denim, referring to jeans that have not ever been treated or washed with chemicals. While at first they are stiff and almost feel like a corset for your legs, they will over time both expand and conform to your body, becoming unique to your shape.
Bootlegs and boot-cuts are the most favourite jeans of men. They are simple, classy and stylish. These kinds are not super low waist. Regular zip fly always looks better than button-fly. These are straight legged from the thigh, all the way down to the hem. The bootleg cut is the best style available for men. Jeans that reach the floor have a much more pleasant appearance than those that don't. Boot-cut jeans may look like they've been made for the boots.

Next comes another best loved model, the loose fit, which is also known as gap jeans. They're simple, classic, and they look very good on men and women both. They cost is about 1/3 the price of the average designer jeans, and they look 300% better, in most cases. Importantly, these "loose fit" jeans are not baggy.

Cooper jeans is known for the colour and especially for the tapered ankles. They are too tight in the knee. Another latest trend is slimmy jeans. These are not sexy jeans. Slimmy jeans are fit and also give a classic look to you.

Lightweight denim is another latest trend in jeans. The jeans often comes with skinny legs that scrunch up. There are bell legs pair with aqua washes and slubbing to give jeans that lived-in look. Light weight denim is a jeans that has multi-directional weaves that give off an air of sophistication, while detailed back pockets on any pair of jeans brings attention to the wearer.

Vintage is also hot this season, and pairing vintage jeans with vintage boots is a show-stopper. There are so many different finishes available in today's market. Trouser-style jeans are also on the scene. This is a nice change of pace from the normal jean style. They have more of a classic cut like trousers. Slightly tailored, with a fuller leg and side slit pockets, this is the perfect candidate for a go-to-work jeans.

Jeans are the ultimate fashion success story. Today, we not only wear jeans lounging in front of the TV, but we are also happy to wear them for a night out on the town or for a day at the office.

Macho no more

If there is something that has grown at an amazing rate in all the major cities of the world, it is men's beauty parlours and men's fashions. It is no longer surprising to walk into a salon and see a man sitting with a facepack or having his nails tended to. It is no longer strange to hear a group of men passionately discussing clothing and shopping with the same kind of fervour as they discuss cricket and football.

Are we talking effeminate here? Are we talking 'gay'? No! The modern urban man loves Armani as much as he loves his sports. The macho man of yesteryears has bitten the dust; he's been replaced by something just as tough inside, but softer at the edges. He goes to beauty parlours, spends hours deciding on a haircut but he is not gay!

Men are taking a greater interest in their appearance. They go to hairdressers rather than barbers; avoid using soap because it's too harsh on their skin; visit the gym instead of playing sport and even have difficulty deciding what to wear.

They're occupying their time differently - not only spending more of it in front of the mirror, but also at boutiques and going to beauty salons. Cosmetic brands are happy with this trend as more and more men are becoming conscious of skin and hair.

The advertisers too are cashing in on this new avatar of the urban male - they too are dropping the macho element from products that target men. Men are shown increasingly as family oriented who recite stories to their children on phone in the middle of important meetings or who wash clothes and cook up a dinner for their wives.

Gone are the tough male images, even from beer and car ads. Another new trend - Men's fashion chains are growing. Men's boutiques have become as popular as women's. Magazines are increasing their coverage of men's fashion.

Twenty years ago, male fashion, skin care and vanity in general, were identified with gay men. Now sexuality, it seems, is irrelevant. In fact, British newspapers have even found a new word for the softer man: the "metrosexual".

The workplace itself has changed for many men, too. As the proportion of white-collar workers grows, so does the need to look good. To compete in today's work environment, you must dress well, have your haircut neatly and take care of your body.

So, women, make way for the new trend - "Vanity - thy name is man"

Facial trends for men

It's now become a trend for men to use facial hair as a fashion accessory. And one has to admit they do it pretty well.

And what is encouraging is the number of ways they find to wear and style their facial hair. Let's take a look at the more popular fashions.
The regular beard: This style flatters many men. But they shouldn't make the mistake of thinking it's a way to avoid daily maintenance of facial hair. There's nothing more ugly than an unkempt beard. Even a full beard needs to be neatly trimmed and combed. A beard tends to attract food particles-it needs to be tended after every meal and kept meticulously clean.

The stubble: A la George Clooney - a stubble can give a guy a devastating look if he wears it well. This style either suits him or makes him look disreputable. A guy should never hold on to a stubble if it doesn't suit him. It'll end up driving away the girls.

For those for whom it works well, the way to maintain a stubble is to shave about twice or thrice a week depending on how thick the stubble gets.

Goatee: The high maintenance look. Goatees need to be neatly trimmed and well shaped. Untended goatees tend to waggle and look terribly unsophisticated and gauche. Be careful not to wear it over-long.

Side burns: Suits a few guys as long as they don't make the mistake of wearing them long and wide. The Victorian sideburn hasn't been considered fashionable for a long time now.

Moustache: While the moustache is frowned upon in the Western world, there is no doubt about the fact that it flatters very many Indian men. Neither Hitler nor Hercule Poirot are considered to have enviable moustaches. A medium sized one with a slight droop at the corners is fashionable now.

There are plenty of styles for men to choose from. The trick is to find the one that suits them well and enhances their looks.
